The "Graphene and Nanotubes: science and applications" ("GNT") group is a national research group (GDR 3217) and an international coordination network (GDRI) cross-linking research on nanotubes and graphene.  Its scientific activity is based on three vital and emerging research themes, which develop knowledge of basic properties of individual nano-objects as well as their manipulation for developing devices linked to the industrial and socio-economical world.  The group gathers French, European and Canadian partners who have played a major role in the activities of the previous GDR, and to which are added scientists of international reputation working on graphene.

Welcome to the new GDR-I : GNT.  The "Graphene and Nanotubes: science and applications" ("GNT") group is a national research group (GDR) and an international coordination network (GDRI) cross-linking research on nanotubes and graphene.

The new GDR-I website is accessible through the internet address

http://www.graphene-nanotubes.org

The site has information about the graphene and nanotube world, in particular:
- Scientific news
- Conference and workshop announcements
- Job opportunities
- Links to laboratories and scientists participating to the GDR

The information is updated by every user who wants to (including you!). If you want to add a post to the GDR-I website, you will just need to log-in to the dedicated interface (login and password available upon request to Julien Cambedouzou - cambedouzou@lps.u-psud.fr - or Chris Ewels - chris.ewels@cnrs-imn.fr), and follow the instructions available in the attached "Guide to updating graphene-nanotubes.org".

Once a week, you will automatically receive an email of recent news sent be the website.  This replaces the email announcements Annick sent in the previous GDR-I. All email addresses from the former diffusion list of the GDR-I Nanotubes have been already added, but anyone interested in this newsletter may subscribe online on the website in the "Newsletter" section. Anyone who doesn't want to receive the newsletter can unsubscribe in the same way.

So if you want to send an announcement to the GDR-I mailing list, the way to do it is to add the announcement to the website.

We hope you will be pleased by this new communication tool at your disposal.
