"Simulation of fingerprints of coupling in carbon nanosystems"

at the Centre de recherche en Physique de la Matière et du Rayonement, University of Namur (Belgium)

A one year postdoctoral position (with one year possible extension) is opened (starting date : October 2010) at Centre de recherche en Physique de la Matière et du Rayonement (PMR) of the University of Namur.

The candidate will be involved in the

- Simulation of the electronic properties multilayer nanotubes and coupled nanotubes and multilayer graphene by ab initio or semiempirical techniques.
- Simulation of the resonant Raman and/or STM fingerprints of coupled carbon nanosystems

The ideal candidate would have a strong background in simulation in solid state physics with experience in ab-initio and/or semi-empirical techniques. He will be conducting independently high level research with interaction with a research team. A good communication skills, both with other theoreticians and with experimentalists is required.

Conditions :
The candidate should have obtained his/her Ph. D. after 01 september 2004 and should be born after 1 january 1970. The salary (grant) is 2140 euros/month.
