A FP7/Marie Curie action PhD grant is available for a joint PhD on graphene- and nanotube-based biosensors. Roughly 18 months in Bologna (with F. Paolucci) and 18 months in Bordeaux (CRPP, with A. Pénicaud), starting date: October 2010.
The candidate should have a good background in organic chemistry in/or electrochemistry, analytical and physical chemistry in general. Roughly, half of the research will be conducted at the University of Bordeaux, the other half at the University fo Bologna. Mastering of french and italian is a plus but not a prerequisite. The PhD fellow will participate in an integrative research project using a panel of methodologies including synthetic chemistry, electrochemistry, high throughput screening, immunoanalysis, ligation of macromolecules and nanoparticules.
Applicants must have a diploma giving access to doctoral studies.
Preferred education profile : MSc in synthetic chemistry, electrochemistry, analytical or physical chemistry.
