In the context of a growing research and development activity on graphene in France, the GDRI GNT is initiating a series of 1-day (lunch-to-lunch) workshops, called "Lavoisier Discussions", dedicated to graphene science and technology throughout 2011-2012. These topical meetings will focus on specific aspects of graphene research with an aim to (1) gather the active community to foster synergy and improve interdisciplinary communication, (2) bring in contact researchers with complementary needs and expertise, (3) improve the potential and international impact of the French research effort in graphene science.
In particular, these workshops will aim at contributing to the large-scale structuring FP7-ICT Graphene Flagship project (www.graphene-flagship.eu)

The Lavoisier Discussions workshops promote open discussion time as described below and lead to the production of a positional paper, which compiles the identified challenges, the consolidated expertise and experimental tools available and the specific needs of the community. In the 2011-12 year, five Lavoisier Discussions have already been programmed on
  1. - Hybrid Graphene (12-13 october, Mulhouse, France)
  2. - Mesoscopic transport in Graphene (18-19 october 2011, Orsay, France)
  3. - Dirac Matter (19-20 october 2011, Orsay, France)
  4. - Graphene on Metals: CVD growth and exploitation (26-27 October 2011, Sorèze, france)
  5. - Spectroscopies of Graphene (8-9 december 2011, Grenoble, France)
